Who thiks the AFL is not acting.?

When it comes to bringing the game into disrepute, the Eagles have it covered, more action should be taken, same goes for Hawthorn, hasnt that gone all by the wayside. even if you barrack for these two teams dont you want it cleaned up, for the good of your club and the game, before Hawk people get defensive, where theres smoke there is usually fire.\, why have the league and media gone quite on the 6-7 players who's names were released, legal reasons i know but come on, do something AFL.
Who thiks the AFL is not acting.?
I am WCE supporter %26amp; when I did not come out %26amp; publically support Ben Cousins, in here, re his drug involvement I was abused by another Eagles supporter %26amp; called a traitor for not giving my backing to him. I did not slate Cousins but said I was disappointed in him.

I have also received abuse from other members (all females, by co-incidence) for bringing this very same subject up. You have no idea the response I received for mentioning some of the Collingwood club's indiscresions!

It is getting a bit out of hand. The players are young; treated like little gods; are paid lots of money; have a lot of spare time on their hands; are placed in positions of temptation.......OK the clubs can't be there to hold their hands all the time - but when the players do something stupid, many of the clubs try to cover up the incident, or play it down to the public hoping it will be out of sight %26amp; out of mind.

The incident involving a player at a pub last Friday is a good indication.
Reply:this -b.c ,i will not use his name ,should be bared from playing club football any where ,he is so up himself , so -i am god i can do no wrong .not one ounce of remorse in the druged body he is the shame of the great game,%26gt;%26gt; bar him from any type of our great game , the AFL Report It
Reply:banned for a year you say?, who is to pay the bills for the support staff when they are left jobless or the other players careers when their lives are put on hold whilst playing in an extremely cut throat business
Reply:The AFL cannot watch their players 24/7. I think they are providing suitable drug education, impose curfews etc..

The players are usually the ones at fault.
Reply:What do you want the AFL to do?

They have in place a 3 strike policy, and until anyone breaches this then they cannot do anything. They came up with the legislation that says they cannot name the players that test positive, so they have to stick to their own rules.

And as for the clubs themselves, how can a football club prevent a player from going out in his own time and taking drugs? They educate the players better than any school or any parent does with their own kids, after that its up to the players.
