To all you creationists that want to be shown an animal thats evolving... (all welcome)?

One example of evolution at work is the case of the hawthorn fly, Rhagoletis pomonella, also known as the apple maggot fly, which appears to be undergoing sympatric speciation.[7] Different populations of hawthorn fly feed on different fruits. A distinct population emerged in North America in the 19th century some time after apples, a non-native species, were introduced. This apple-feeding population normally feeds only on apples and not on the historically preferred fruit of hawthorns. The current hawthorn feeding population does not normally feed on apples. Some evidence, such as the fact that six out of thirteen allozyme loci are different, that hawthorn flies mature later in the season and take longer to mature than apple flies; and that there is little evidence of interbreeding (researchers have documented a 4-6% hybridization rate) suggests that this is occurring. The emergence of the new hawthorn fly is an example of evolution in progress.[8]
To all you creationists that want to be shown an animal thats evolving... (all welcome)?
Every moderately educated person knows that evolution is a scientific fact. The rest of them don't want you to tell them. They'd rather kick and scream and hold onto their Bible. It's useless trying to educate them.
Reply:Ha. I have some evidence of evolutionism too!

FOSSIL!
Reply:when the fly actually turns into a frog, please write me. In the meantime, though there are physical changes, a fly is a fly is a fly.

No intelligent creationist will argue the fact that environment, diet and other factors contribute to physical changes- call it microevolution or whatever you wnat- selective breeding is mentioned in the Bible-

what we do question, what there is no evidence for, is the idea of one species evolving into a completely different species- a common ancestor evolving into completely different species - in the meantime this hawthorne fly started out as a fly, it "evolved" into a fly and continues to "evolve" into a fly
Reply:it might change...but its still a fly, it didn't evolve into a bird, or mosquito, its still a fly. dogs may be different from the first dogs on earth, but they are still...dogs, christians don't dispute evolution on a theory of change, things change and mutate all the time, germs, bacteria, flies..but they are still germs, bacteria, flies, fish, etc, so when we are told that a fossil of an ape is found, and has human characteristics....its still and ape, it may be a different species of ape, but its still and ape, and humans may look different then they used to, but they are still humans.
Reply:This is adaptation. Evolution would have this fly turn into a grasshopper or bird or something other than what it is, a fly.
Reply:Informative. Thanks.
Reply:Some of these answers are so uninformed! i mean- at least study evolution before you decide against it. 'why arent humans evolving' - the gene pool of mankind isnt eing infuenced enough by things like predators killing us off. 'how do you know this happens over million of years' - fossils! And 'they don't change species' - Do people not see that enough changes over time will lead to something so different it gets a new species? Just take the snake- evolved from the lizard and the evidence is that there are still the remnants of legs in their skeletons. Dinosaurs to birds- again fossil evidence.

I wish people would actually learn about evolution and use a little common sense. Then if you are informed and still believe in creationism then i'm a little confused but ok thats fine.

Reply:The raw material needed for molecules-to-man evolution is not the varying, already-existing genetic information, but rather the addition of NEW genetic information. In both cases above, however, no new genetic information was added; instead, the current genetic information was mutated and selected for - called natural selection.

The evolved forms contain equal to, or less than, the same genetic information as before - this does not provide an example of what is needed for evolution from molecules to man.
Reply:They don't think that's how evolution is supposed to work (I don't know why...). They're going to come back with "Show me a horse that turned into a Dog, then I'll believe!" or something to that effect.
Reply:you herald this claim over a fly? what about the creatures that defy evolution such as the giraffe? evolution demands that somewhere along the way a giraffe had to develop artery chambers from its heart to its brain, otherwise when it would bend down to drink water its brain would've burst.... if evolution were true, giraffes would be extinct. and they aren't the only ones.
Reply:Very good but unfortunately creationists have low IQ's and cannot interpret scientific evidence. They would rather keep themselves ignorant of the real world.

The giraffe's heart developed OVER TIME MORON with the lengthening of the neck.....Damn people you are dumb. The evolutionary process takes millions of years not a couple hundred or even decades. So the fact you can prove variation in a species caused by the environment gives validity to the evolution theory. Yes micro-evolution if you want to call it but for some of you idiots to say...."when i see a whale turn into a goat then ill believe evolution"...you just don't get it and never will. So hold on to your bible and go to heaven, ignorance is bliss.
Reply:Thats called selective advantage.

But if evolution does still occur, why aren't humans evolving? Surely by now we should have developed a gene that makes us immune to influenza and colds or something similar?
Reply:Every living thing is evolving all the time.

Check the height/weight statistics of the 19th century to today - or the average lifespan...

Look at the tadpole.

Check the size of the human brain today against the brain of the remains of humans several hundred years ago.

You will never convince the ignorant that the obvious applies.

They are locked into a mindset caused by poor education and lack of knowledge of the world around them.
Reply:Unless you have an example of a croc mating with a duck and having off-spring their necks will still be sunburnt.
Reply:you should give credit to where you copy and pasted from

Reply:this doesn't disprove Creation, however.
Reply:Continuing evolution is no evidence against there being a Creator.
Reply:Micro evolution is evolution within a species. This is a known fact.

WHAT DID YOU EVOLVE FROM?

I'm waiting...............

Give proof that I descended from an ape or from a commom ancestor of the ape. You can not do it. C'mon I'm still waiting.........................

You are lost now, but hopefully one day you will understand.
Reply:So...it's still a fly then?

It sounds like the same stuff they were saying with the peppered moth decades ago.

Natural Selection - Yes.

Evolution - No.
Reply:The fly remains a fly - the bacteria remains a bacteria. This is only evidence that adaptation occurs - a fact no one (save a few on the fringe) would argue against.
Reply:Well said,,,,,,yet more undeniable evidence
Reply:I think species adaption is very widespread, but I am not convinced about speciation (wikipedia it). To be honest I think its a bit unscientific to assume that just because we can see change over small ammounts of time the change is total over immesurable amounts time leading to a totally new species. This is talking about say a bacterial organism mutating into a horse over x billion million years.
Reply:Ironic that your name is Adam... ;)
Reply:All of these things have been placed here in the world by the devil to test your faith!
