Is this the best start to an AFL season for Hawthorn EVER???

I was just wondering if any "history buffs" out there could please tell me if this year is the best start for the Hawks, if not what was and where did they finish up... or if your good enough their best record and best finish.. Thanks ... oh and go the Hawks !!! :)

Reply:The truth of the matter is this, it is their best start to a season, as of Sunday, in 2001 in round 9, they played essendon and got smashed by over 70 points.



Take that as gold, (brown and gold). Great start but please keep a lid on it, don't carry on like some clubs. Just enjoy it, anything can happen in footy, i have watched more seasons than most and if they loose two or three champs to injury, like(touch wood), Franklin, Mitchell and another top liner, than things can change very quickly. Crawford, Guerra and Hodge are out but they only beat Melbourne, this week will be a test, now dew too, if they don't get those blokes back, the bullies are a real chance, Lewis too.



PS, the tigers won the first 7 in 1995 and didn't go any further than the prelim, it can happen real quick, the downfall i mean.
Reply:It's been a great start to the Hawks, lets see if they can continue, especially with the injuries / suspensions to the key players they have at the moment.
Reply:According to the statistics on tele over the weekend it is. The only other teams to be 9 and 0 in recent years are Essendon and two others (sorry I cant remember the others but they were not Geelong or Hawthorn).
