Is he neutered? If not, he might have wandered off further than usual looking for a female. I don't know what else you've already tried to find him, but here are some suggestions that might help.

Make a "Missing Cat" poster (include his photo) and drop it into the letter boxes of all the houses in neighbouring streets, asking them to check their gardens, sheds, garages etc., in case he has got locked in somewhere by accident or is injured and hiding. Put this notice in local shop windows, petrol stations etc. Hand one to your postman, so that he can keep any eye out for the cat. Call local vet clinics and animal rescues in case someone has taken him there. Ask vets if you can put one of your posters on their notice board. If you have a free local newspaper, place an advert in the Lost %26amp; Found column.

You can also post his details on these UK missing pet registers. They have a Found section too, so it's worth you checking there too.

I know you must be very worried, but don't give up hope. I hope he turns up safe and sound very soon.
Reply:I live in Texas, so of course I haven't SEEN your cat, but.....here's a suggestion for getting him back home. It worked for me, and can't hurt for you to try it.......take something that has his scent on it (blanket, rug, towel, etc), and "hang / fly" it from a fence, clothesline, tree (you get the idea). The wind / breeze will carry that scent through the air, and your cat should be able to follow his own scent back to his home. My male cat had been gone for a week, when someone told me to do this. Within one day, he was home! Put some food / water out for him, for when he get home. Good luck......Let us know if he returns....We're all interested in the outcomes of our advice.
Reply:Don't know anything about your cat. I was born in your road though in 1961. Wey hey.
Reply:Oh I am so sorry, I live in london and I havent seen any cats, you should have put a collar (with name and address and telephone no) on him, that way they know the cat is yours, there are plenty of black cats around and any of them coud be yours.

Try putting signs up in your area with that description, call neighboors they might have seen stray cats, contact your local shelter to check to see if they have taken him in.

Wish you the best

Reply:sorry to hear about the loss of your fur-babe. There a dozens of more constructive things you could be doing other than raising this question on Yahoo Answers though, as many posters here are somewhat lacking in sensitivity to the sort of pain that such a loss can cause. Try following the link below to find a lot of helpful and practical advice on what things you can do to help you in your search. It is an english-based forum with members in your area ...
Reply:yes ive got him, but i like him too much to give him back and i only live down the road from you!
Reply:A black cat eh? I think i may have seen a black cat somewhere, once in the last 22 years or so? How substantial is the reward, and how fussy are you about the cat?
Reply:Put up posters with a photo and details.

Contact local vets.

Contact the council just to make sure he has not been knocked over and killed and then go to the neighbours and ask them to search sheds and garages.

If you have a local paper then put in a small advert in the lost and found column.

Keep looking. When he is found get him micro-chipped.
